What Kind Of Seller Are You?

Bob Kelly, a guest writer for Realtor.com, recently wrote an article asking “Are you truly committed to selling?”. Sure, you have your home listed, but are you really willing to do what it takes to get it sold? Kelly believes that there are two types of sellers: “committed” and “iffy”

Committed sellers are those who are willing to do what is necessary to make their home sell. They usually have a plan in mind and could be relocating, downsizing, or upgrading. Whatever the case may be, these people are truly committed to selling their home.

Iffy sellers are those who have many stipulations and only want to sell on their terms. They want to get their asking price, don’t want to make repairs, and want everything done at their convenience. Although they have their homes listed, they aren’t motivated to make it sell.

First Ever Halloween Event on Morey’s Pier!

For the first time ever Morey’s Pier in Wildwood will transform into Morey’s FEARS- Terror on The Boardwalk! Mariner’s Lading will become a frightening treat for a few weekends in October. The boardwalk will be crowded with zombies, clowns and ghosts…not what you would see on a normal day in Wildwood. The rides will also transform into spooky thrills and the main haunted attractions will be The Ghost Ship, which is declared to be “the creepiest attraction on the Eastern Seaboard”. There are also two new mazes that were built specifically for this event: CarnEvil and CornStalkers. Both are sure to terrify those who enter.

Weekend Events At The Jersey Shore!

New Lights For Atlantic City Boardwalk!

A $2.5 million project to improve the lighting along the Atlantic City Boardwalk was recently approved by the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. Over 300-lighted poles will be installed along the boardwalk, along with 72 decorative ones. By the end, CRDA will have paid $5 million for the project that stretches nearly four miles. Along with new light poles, there will also be repairs, updates, and cameras added to help with a better surveillance system for the boardwalk. City Public Works employees started assessing spots on the boardwalk last week. The project should start soon and be finished by Spring.

Mortgage Rates Fall Below 4% For The First Time EVER!!

The new average 30 year fixed mortgage interest rate is now 3.94 percent. The lowest it’s ever been! This means that it is the prime opportunity for those who want to buy or refinance. The average rate on a 15 fixed year loan is even lower, at 3.26%, which is also a record. Bob Walters, chief economist of Quicken Loans, believes that because of unexpected decrease in interest rates, they could become lower than they already are.

To put it into perspective, here is a chart graphing fixed interest rates starting from 1963 and ending in present time. There’s never been a better time to buy!

There’s Never Been A Better Time To Buy A Home!

After the Federal Reserve announced its plan to reduce borrowing costs even further than they already are, mortgage rates in the U.S. have fallen to a record low. The average 30-year mortgage interest rate is just 4.01 percent according to Freddie Mac, which is the lowest rate they have on record since 1971!

Along with buying houses, those who are already own homes are taking advantage of this by reducing their monthly payments. Last week, a Mortgage Bankers Association index of refinancing rose 11 percent from the prior week.

Overall, if you have been debating whether or not now is a good time to buy a home, the answer is YES! Now it the time to buy!
